A Christian Ministry in the National Parks,  Site placement Death Valley California

  •  Student Minister & Externship, 1 year. Full charge pastoral ministerial functions of weekly preaching, Bible Study, pastoral care for the visitors, concession employees, and full time Park Service staff at Furnace Creek, Death Valley California. Sunday services attendance varied from 10 during off season to over 350 during spring busy season.

Willow Creek Community Church, South Barrington, Illinois

  • Mentor Coach (Discipleship Ministry), 1 year. Journey with, shepherd, and coach 8 mentors who are actively engaging with young adults, as well as, general church members in mentoring relationships.
  • Practice Table Hosts, 2 year. Open home and facilitate monthly Table Practice gatherings or a small community of 8.  Share meals, a table liturgy, and live together.
  • Young Adult Ministry (Axis), 4 years. Pioneered and lead a monthly Living Room Sessions gathering for young adults. Vision is to connect Jesus across generations.  Monthly gatherings of 20-30 college-age and young adults exploring discipleship and living an authentic journey with Jesus Christ.
  • Young Adult Ministry Mentor (Young Adult Ministry), 6 years. Serve as a mentor to dozens of young men, women, and couples pertaining to spiritual formation, career and calling, and well-being.
  • Student Impact, High School House Group Leader, 2.5 years. Shepherd 7 small group leaders (all 19-24 years old) who weekly lead small groups of high school students from Streamwood High School.
  • Small Group Leaders, Men’s and Couples Discipleship. 10 years. Lead various small group studies and accountability groups.
  • Men’s Ministry, founding team.  Launched a volunteer-based men’s breakfast that started with one restaurant meeting site and expanded the ministry to monthly gathering in 14 different regions in a 20-mile radius of the church.

Kings Arrow Ranch, ministry of CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) Family Life Ministry, Lumberton Mississippi.

  • Camp Leadership Team, 1 summer. Was one of five college and seminary students who directed the daily camp activities for a youth camp.  I served as the Head RAT (Ranch Action Team) directing the activities of high-school and college student workers to ensure all the daily camp maintenance, kitchen clean-up, and set-ups were handled in a timely and safe manner.
  • Camp Counselor & Leadership Trainee, 1 summer. Started the summer as cabin counselor for middle school students. Took over the functions of Head RAT replacing a leader who needed to leave camp prematurely.
